Wild Wasi offers a taste of comfort and eco-friendly luxury in one of the most beautiful and unique places in the world – the Ecuadorian Amazon! The lodge features a queen size bed and accommodates two people.
As you enter the home you are taken into an open concept space that provides everything you will need for your stay, including a kitchen, dining, and living area with breath-taking jungle views. Every detail was lovingly hand-crafted and placed for your every comfort. The handmade free-standing wooden bathtub offers a leisurely respite as you are lulled by the sounds of the small river that runs close to the property. The outdoor hammock style seating area offers a unique immersion into the stunning natural surroundings. Imagine yourself indulging in a glass of wine or hot cocoa and listening to the sounds of the jungle from your own private bungalow!
Enjoy our natural infinity pool in our outdoor area. The pool, completely without chemicals, is constantly supplied with fresh, running water from our nearby spring.
As you relax in one of the hammock under the soothing shade of the traditionally built tiki hut, you can observe a nest of small parrots in a tree nearby. Wind down in the cool waters of the exotic swimming pool, and spend your evenings roasting marshmallows over the fire pit. We provide plenty of firewood to keep you cozy every night of your visit.
This picturesque jungle lodge was built quite literally by hand, with a lot of dedication and attention to the smallest detail. It was important to us to create a space that was both comfortable and sustainable, while offering a taste of luxury and style that blends seamlessly with the nature around it. Wild Wasi was completed in 2023.

We offer a fully-equipped kitchen as well as an option to book a hot breakfast or a delicious dinner prepared in the local traditional style. You also have a grill at your disposal where you can prepare a juicy steak.
The landscape around the lodge offers numerous opportunities for a real adventure-packed holiday. Explore the Ecuadorian rainforest via our private hiking trails, where you can observe countless animals, insects, and fascinating flora! Take a detour to the nearby river and take a refreshing dip in the various small waterfalls. There are countless species of tropical birds that can be observed directly from your jungle lodge, or you may want to opt for a private tour of the nearby Wildlife Rescue Center and find out how monkeys and parrots are being rehabilitated to be released into the wild.
We also offer various tours on site. Or do you prefer something more relaxed and calm? On request, we offer on-site soothing massages by trained staff.
Please note that if you are not opting for the daily breakfast and dinner, it is best to do some grocery shopping in Puyo before trekking over to the lodge deeper in the jungle. The water from the tap is potable and comes from a local spring. It’s more delicious than the water bought at the store and perfectly safe to drink!
You will never be far from someone who is ready to assist you and address your every need! We live just a 5-minute car ride down the road, and our parents/in-laws live very close by (about a 5 minute walk). We will be available to help you organize anything you need.
Since the house is located in the middle of the rainforest, power supply can occasionally be unstable. Short outages may occur, especially during bad weather. We provide candles so you can still enjoy a calm and cozy atmosphere.

The lodge is located approximately a 45-minute drive from Puyo and is situated on a hilltop surrounded by over 100 hectares of family-owned Ecuadorian rainforest.
You can plan about 6 hours for the journey from Quito airport to the jungle lodge. The trip to Puyo is 5 hours.
You can reach the nearest grocery store in 15 minutes by car, supermarkets and farmer’s markets can be found in Puyo.
The last 3 kilometers of the access road to the house are unpaved and we recommend that the drive should be done via an SUV. However, it is also possible to reach the house with a sedan or compact car, but please be advised that the drive will be a little bumpy.
We also offer an optional shuttle service to/from the airport or to/from Puyo for a fee.

A very special birthday
I chose Wild Wasi as the place to celebrate my 40th birthday, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Surrounded by the Ecuadorian jungle and its unique energy, it felt truly magical. The cabin is incredibly cozy, and every detail iaround it, is thoughtfully executed, it was a very special experience.
Amazing!
We loved out stay at Wild Wasi. The hosts were very attentive and we felt welcome and well-taken care of. They actually even went out of their way to help us bring a surprise gift to the property from Puyo. We were really thankful! The pool and room have beautiful views of the forest below. There's a great hiking trail below the property that we also enjoyed. The property is private and well decorated. There are a lot of little thoughtful touches that made it feel like home. Everything felt clean and new. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. We also enjoyed lounging by the pool and grilling burgers on the grill. In short, no complaints. Highly recommended!

Logement magnifique en pleine jungle. L’environnement extérieur est tout aussi beau. Nous avons également choisi deux dîners et petits déjeuners en option et tout était très bon ! Nous recommandons vivement ce logement pour quelques jours de détente !
Paradise
Absolute Empfehlung! Die Gastgeberin Franzi ist sehr bemüht und kümmert sich bestens um alles. Die Lodge ist ein Traum, geräumig, bestens ausgestattet und den Ausblick kann man kaum toppen, umgeben vom Dschungel. Auch die angebotenen Dschungel- bzw. Kanu-Touren waren super spannend, wir konnten viele Tiere sehen und die Kultur kennenlernen. Es war wirklich ein wunderbarer Aufenthalt!
Amazing Stay
My wife and I absolutely loved Wild Wasi. Franzy and Flavio were great hosts and the place they built is amazing. The all day canoe tour was awesome too, we got to see much. Can’t wait to come back! Would give 6 stars if possible.
Absolute Superspiztenklasse!
Was soll ich sagen?! Wir sind das zweite Mal da gewesen und haben es wieder so sehr genossen! Das ist ein ganz besonderer Ort, der seinesgleichen sucht! Man kann von diesem Ort nicht genug bekommen, und Franzi ist eine perfekte Gastgeberin! Wenn du einen außerordentlich schönen und ruhigen Ort mitten im Amazonas Wald in einem außerordentlich liebevoll, sauberen und geschmackvoll eingerichteten Haus mit einem einzigartigen Pool suchst, an dem du alleine bist, ohne dich allein gelassen zu fühlen, dann nichts wie hin! Ich verspreche jedem, er wird es nicht bereuen!
Beautiful jungle house!
A stunning and luxurious house in the jungle. Immaculately presented and built by hand by the owners - every detail is handcrafted and unique. They have created something very special here and we loved it. As two architects we were so impressed with the design and attention to detail. We had our own cabin with beautiful wooden bathtub and netted seating area on the balcony. The infinity pool and outdoor seating area with sofas, hammock & a firepit was a huge bonus. We had complete privacy with the sounds of the rainforest all around. To call it an 'Airbnb' doesn't do it justice - it's like your own private hotel. The owners live close by and are contactable through the lodge's wifi anytime. Franzi can bring freshly baked bread and a delicious dinner (additional cost but worth it!). They also helped us organise transfers to and from the lodge, including stopping at a shop to pick up supplies (it's self catering). We stayed 3 nights and just relaxed at the lodge, but there were options to do other tours too.
Home away from home
Wild Wasi was everything we hoped for, and more! Even prettier than the pictures (how often does that happen?) with exceptional hosts and breathtaking surroundings. We felt right at home and enjoyed being able to cook our own food but also treated ourselves to the delicious tilapia dinner and breakfast basket (the warm bread in the morning <3). We made memories for life exploring the Amazon jungle and relaxing in this luxurious yet very affordable haven and even had a close encounter with the cutest woolly monkey at the wildlife reserve! Highly recommend staying for as long as possible, we booked 11 nights and would gladly have stayed even longer. Thank you to Flávio, Franzi, Julio and Sonrisa :D for making our trip to Ecuador so memorable!
Simply Perfection
Our week at Wild Wasi was the perfect combination of adventure, relaxation, luxury, wildlife and culture. The wow factor of the house does not fade, it combines the raw and rugged jungle with a cosy and luxurious retreat. The view from the house and pool are incomparable and the soundtrack the surroundings provide are somethings that we will miss everyday. We booked multiple tours with Wild Wasi and each was a personal experience with lasting memories. What shines though above all is that we felt like we lived as a part of the family during our stay, a warm welcome (with fresh fruits) from Franzi and Flávio who ensured our stay was as comfortable as possible and warm bread was dropped with our breakfast, a few hours at the wildlife sanctuary originally founded by Flávio’s mother shown us the care that the family has for the jungle and all of its life. We spent an afternoon at the family house learning about the journey of chocolate with Flávio’s father and got to try some of the most natural cacao ever made. Finally we have to mention the star of our trip Julio, from our first day it felt as though we were staying with a friend who we hadn’t seen for a while and was excited to show us his jungle life. We are sad to leave and thankful that we visited, to anyone looking to explore Ecuador and escape the tourist traps, look no further. A home from home. Thank you Wild Wasi Alexandra & Dan
This place is a real gem.
Forget the bigger, more commercial lodges where you are herded to your table with other groups, work to a regimented timetable for trips etc - Wild Wasi provides you with your own private Lodge with swimming pool, and the friendly hosts Franzi and Flavio can arrange day trips, night walks and tours to suit your timetable. Wild Wasi gives you the best of both worlds: a place to relax, swim and feel like you are on holiday, along with a base from which to explore the rainforest at a pace to suit you. The hosts can deliver a breakfast basket and / or evening meal for a small charge. And Wild Wasi is far kinder on your wallet than some of the larger lodges - really great value for money.

Welcome to Wild-Wasi!
Wasi means "house" in the indigenous language Kichwa – and this is a real matter of the heart for us, as well as a reflection of our Ecuadorian-German family. My name is Franzi and together with my husband Flavio, our two kids Hanna, Elian and our dog Bob, we are fulfilling a long-cherished dream of welcoming visitors to our jungle home! We want to share this paradise with our guests and offer you a unique and unforgettable experience.
